As one of Asia’s most dynamic education technology markets, Japan continues to play an important role in shaping regional education innovation trends.

Following previous exchanges with organizations including JAPET&CEC, ICT CONNECT 21 and Learning of Tomorrow, WORLDDIDAC ASIA 2026 team recently visited EDIX Tokyo 2026 to further explore developments in Japan’s education technology ecosystem and strengthen industry connections across Asia.

Exploring Japan’s Evolving Education Market

During the visit, the team observed a growing focus on AI-driven learning, smart classroom technologies and digital education platforms across the Japanese market.

With the foundation of Japan’s “GIGA School” initiative already in place, many schools are now moving beyond large-scale hardware deployment toward software integration, learning analytics and AI-supported education solutions.

At EDIX Tokyo, areas such as:

• Personalized education platforms
• STEAM & robotics education
• Smart campus technologies

received significant attention from both exhibitors and visitors.

The event also highlighted Japan’s continued strength in areas including classroom hardware, display systems, educational furniture and user-centered product design.

The visit formed part of WORLDDIDAC ASIA’s ongoing efforts to connect education industry stakeholders across Asia and encourage international collaboration within the sector.

In recent years, increasing numbers of Japanese education companies have shown interest in broader regional partnerships and overseas market opportunities, particularly across Asia.

For international companies, the Japanese market remains attractive due to its mature business environment, stable procurement systems and demand for high-quality education solutions.

At the same time, growing innovation across China’s education technology and manufacturing ecosystem is creating new opportunities for cross-border cooperation in areas such as:

Looking Ahead to WORLDDIDAC ASIA 2026

WORLDDIDAC ASIA 2026 will take place from 15–17 September 2026 at the Hangzhou Grand Convention & Exhibition Center in China.

Organized by Worlddidac, the China Educational Equipment Industry Association and Meorient International Exhibition, the event aims to provide an international platform for education technology, sourcing, networking and industry exchange across Asia.

The exhibition is expected to bring together global education solution providers, buyers and industry professionals from across the education sector.
